Hello!
I want to tell you a little bit about my film school.
I was the president of the student center for two years and the issue of the curriculum was always something complex for the film school. Since we shared the same faculty with the school of journalism, we had to share courses that tended to make more sense in communication areas and involved a lot of reading and writing, but on the other hand, those related to the arts and creation were often left aside. This generated an excessive academic load in the case of those studying film, since the hours dedicated to the creative processes were affected by the load of the courses with journalism.
In addition, the cinema building, although it had the minimum conditions, was not designed for public areas, which meant a harder academic environment.
What I must tell is that it has the best conditions in terms of recording equipment compared to other film schools in Chile. This is also because we are the largest school, with about 500 students, so they must worry about having the amount of equipment necessary for the full development of the school.
Finally, I believe that the teaching processes should have adjustments, especially in art schools, perhaps the university logic is not the most appropriate for film school, but thinking about learning beyond evaluations can be something innovative and necessary to allow us to create without limits.
Thanks for reading all my posts!
